STAGE 11 - Belorado – Agés

Agés

Agés

This is a medium height mountain stage where you need to make an ascent to Monte de Oca. It’s important to fill the water bottle to the top because you are facing one of the major obstacles of the stage, as there are steep slopes and a continuous climb that will test even the most experienced hiker.

The path continues through bare fields and dirt tracks until you reach the Mojapán fountain. That’s when you can cool down and get some rest in one of the hostels offered by this village. From here, the stage will be less demanding. It’s a good opportunity to relax and take a deep breath surrounded by thick oak, juniper and heather forests. Then, you’ll arrive to San Juan de Ortega where you cannot miss the opportunity to visit its monastery.

After more than 27 kilometers you will have reached Agés. This town does not have a large variety of restaurants and places to eat. However, from here we always recommend the best.
